- Accept that change will happen: Change can be difficult, but it is inevitable in life. Resiliency involves being able to more quickly adapt to changing conditions. When you embark on the journey of recovery, you often encounter a crossroad. On one side, there are temptations, urges, and cravings that led you to the path of destruction, on the other side lies the road to recovery, which requires hard work, determination and a dedication to a BETTER LIFE. What strategies can we use to deal with change in recovery?
- Positive Thinking- Cultivate a positive mindset and focus on all the benefits of change.
- Health Coping Mechanisms – Pouring ourselves into things we enjoy like reading, talking to friends, gardening, writing, walking, skiing, yoga and so many other things.
- Self Refection – Engage in self–refection to better understand your triggers and develop techniques to navigate them.
- Support System – Surround yourself with a a network of positive, friends who are looking out for your best interest and who can encourage your growth!
- Acceptance – Embrace change as an integral part of the recovery process and acknowledge its importance.
You already have all of this knowledge inside of you! You are already a success by being in recovery!!
